Synopsis
Bristol, Angleterre, au début du 19ème siècle. Une étrangère est jugée pour avoir mendié. Mais lorsqu'un homme prétend parler sa langue, on comprend qu'il s'agit d'une princesse d'un pays lointain. Elle est alors accueillie par une famille d'aristocrates qui ne voient en elle qu'une manière d'augmenter leur prestige. Mais un reporter local, pas convaincu de son rang de princesse, mène l'enquête.
